New smartphone honor V8. The premium metallic handset is filled to the brim with high-end chipsets and sensors, but despite that and in typical Huawei fashion, it has been priced pretty reasonably.

The honor V8 sports a 5.7-inch display and it is among the very few handsets from the Chinese company that sports a Quad HD resolution display. Inside, Huawei’s own Kirin 950 chipset, which comprises of an octa-core CPU, powers the handset. This is paired with 4GB RAM, 32/64GB of storage space, and a microSD card slot. Other notable specs include a USB Type-C port, NFC, Smart PA audio amplifier, and a 3D fingerprint scanner that is located at the rear rear. All this is powered by a 3500mAh battery that supports fast charging.
Honor V8 also sports two 12MP shooters at its rear, with one of the sensors being monochromatic. The two 12MP sensors allow the V8 to shoot 360 degree photos and the software also has plethora of features to take advantage of the dual-camera setup like a Super Night mode, Professional mode, and more. An 8MP shooter at the front is located at the front for all your selfie needs.
V8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 on top of it.
The highest rung variant of the honor V8 will cost RMB 2799 (~$430) and it will come with a Quad HD screen, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of storage space. The other two variants are priced at RMB 2499 and RMB 2299, and they come with a Full HD display. The lowest rung variant also lacks NFC connectivity. The handset goes on sale in China from May 17th.
In addition to the handset, Huawei also launched a special VR headset for the handset with a dedicated HiFi headset.
